Reminders from Shipment Packaging

Shippers need to complete parcel packaging before courier arrives for shipment pickup. Please prepare sufficient internal and external packaging and cushioning materials for your parcel to ensure sufficient parcel protection during transit

Here are some factors to consider when choosing packaging methods or materials:

  1. Item size: Consider the size of the shipping items and select a box that is suitable for the item and cushioning materials. Choosing a packaging box that is too large or too small may result in damage to your goods during transportation.

  2. Item type: For example, fragile items require extra layers of protection and additional space for cushioning materials to reduce friction and potential damage. Non-fragile items such as clothing or books can be packed together in the same box. Fragile items such as speakers, ceramics, glass products, or artworks should be wrapped with cushioning materials separately like bubble wrap and packed in separate boxes.

  3. Item weight: Using a lightweight or old paper box to package a heavy item can easily lead to damage to the package. Therefore, for heavier goods, it is recommended to choose corrugated cardboard boxes or reinforced wooden crates.

How to package fragile items?

  • Prepare or order a durable box that fits the size of the item.
  • Wrap the item carefully with bubble wrap.
  • Fill the bottom of the box with protective cushioning materials, such as foam peanuts.
  • Place the wrapped item in the center of the box.
  • Fill any remaining space in the box with airbags, foam sheets, or bubble pouches as cushioning materials, adjusting the amount based on the fragility of the item.
  • Reinforce the inner protection of the box with crumpled paper or corrugated cardboard.
  • Seal the box with packing tape, applying multiple layers to ensure safe transportation of the goods.
  • Optionally, attach a fragile sticker to the outside of the box.

How to package large items?

  • Use foam sheets or corrugated cardboard to protect the item, avoiding lower protective value materials like crumpled paper.
  • Seal the packaging box with heavy-duty shipping tape, especially at the seams, applying multiple layers for added strength.
  • Use sturdy packaging boxes, avoiding using old boxes that may be damaged or unable to withstand the weight of the goods.
  • If possible, use two boxes, placing the already packaged box inside a slightly larger box for additional protection.

Basic steps for packaging shipped items:

  1. Choose a packaging box: To reduce costs, you may consider using old, previously used boxes, but this increases the risk of package damage. Therefore, using new boxes each time is the safest option.
  2. Prepare the packaging box: When booking a shipment online, the box is not provided. Senders need to prepare the box themselves and pack the items before the courier arrives to pick up the shipment.
  3. Package the goods: If the items are fragile, such as glass or ceramics, they should be carefully wrapped in bubble wrap before placing them in the packaging box.
  4. Fill the empty space in the box: Especially when shipping fragile items, it is necessary to use cushioning materials (such as bubble wrap, foam peanuts, or newspaper) to fill the empty space in the box, preventing the items from rubbing, colliding, or shaking during transportation.
  5. Seal the packaging box securely: After completing the packaging and filling the space in the box, the packaging box should be fully sealed to prevent the items from falling out. Use packing tape to completely seal the seams of the outer box. Do not use duct tape, opaque tape, or string to seal the box. Ensure that there are no protruding nails, hooks, or other unrelated addresses or labels on the packaging surface.
  6. Measure dimensions and get an online quote: After packaging, calculate the actual number of boxes and measure the volume of each box. Then enter the "custom size" on the website to get a quote and place an order.

The courier will pick up the package and will not assist with packaging. Insufficient packaging may result in damage or delay during shipment and may affect the compensation claim.
