Notice of Identity Verification For Shipments Imported to Indonesia

(1) What is Identity Verification for Indonesia Customs?

Explanation: Identity verification is the new policy (regulation No 11/2020) implemented by Indonesia customs on Aug.01.2021. It will be mandatory for the customs to obtain and include the "local tax ID (NPWP)" and "personal ID certificates" of consignees based in Indonesia for each shipments.

(2) Table of Required Documents for Individual Receiver & Company Receiver

⚠️ 【Attention-1】Please note that a failure to submit the consignee’s NPWP, KTP, or any other forms of identification will result in delays in clearance and delivery.

⚠️ 【Attention-2】Although the importer is required to submit identity certificates, it doesn't exactly indicate all of the parcels can be cleared by this method. For the restricted shipments regulated by Indonesian customs policy, the importer must submit the import permits besides identity certificates for clearance. Shipment won't be released until customs approves. On the other hand, prohibited ones are unable to import whether the importer submit identity certificates or not.
