# Taxes & Duties
## Set up your Taxes and Duties. Providing your IOSS number once and enjoy clearer, faster VAT handling with EU Customs.
#### Activate IOSS
1. Click **Settings** on the side navigation and go to the **Tax & Duties** tab
2. Enter your IOSS number. ( In case the number is invalid, the tax will be charged back to the shipper with an IOSS handling fee)

#### Ship with IOSS
After the IOSS is setup, you can select IOSS as a tax handling option under Custom Declaration in step 2 of creating shipment. Please make sure the correct option is selected. Otherwise, the shipment will be cleared customs without using your own IOSS.
