SF eship (C2C Personal Postal) is an exclusive express service by SF Express, enabling individuals and small e-commerce businesses to send personal items from Hong Kong to mainland China at a cost-effective rate. Ideal for B2C and C2C shipments, it supports items like clothing, handbags, and watches, adhering to China’s customs regulations.

Chargeable Weight

The chargeable weight (kg) of a shipment is determined by the actual gross weight or the volumetric weight (L x W x H (cm) ÷6000), whichever is greater.

It offers delivery in 6-8 business days across over 300 Chinese cities, operating 365 days a year.

Size & Weight Limitation

  • Size Limit: Maximum dimensions of 2m x 0.8m x 0.7m (length x width x height).
  • Quantity Limit: Up to 10 items per shipment. 


Restrictions:

  • For residential areas, the actual weight of a single item must not exceed 130KG, and dimensions must not exceed 2m, 1.5m, and 0.8m respectively.
  • For non-residential areas, the actual weight of a single item must not exceed 130KG, and dimensions must not exceed 2.5m, 1.5m, and 1.5m respectively.

Customs Clearance

The customs clearance process for SF eship (C2C Personal Postal) service, involves specific requirements for shipping personal items from Hong Kong to mainland China. 

  • Declared Value:

    • For Shipments with Multiple Items (More Than 1 Item): The total value of a single shipment must not exceed CNY 2,000.
    • For Shipments with a Single, Indivisible Item: The value of a single shipment may exceed CNY 2,000.
    • Tax Responsibility: Only DDU is accepted. The receivers are responsible for bearing any corresponding customs duties incurred due to the shipment.
  • Recipient Identification Documents:
    • Customers are required to upload the recipient's identification documents, such as an ID card or passport, along with a shopping receipt (screenshots from online purchases are acceptable) within a designated timeframe, typically 5 days. This step is essential for ensuring smooth customs clearance.
    • Documents can be uploaded via the SFHK APP under "Customs Service" or through the official website at "Help Center" > "Customs Service" > "Upload Customs Documents".
    • Failure to upload documents in time may result in the package being returned to the sender, with the sender bearing the return shipping costs.
  • Item Declaration Requirements:
    • Shipments require detailed and accurate declarations, including:
      • Item name
      • Brand
      • Material
      • Specifications
      • Model

A receipt or invoice may be requested by customs authorities to verify the declared value or authenticity of goods, especially for high-value or branded items.

  • China Personal Import Tax:

    Tax rates for personal imports vary between 13% and 50% and are categorized across 25 different groups. For more detailed information, please consult the article titled "China Personal Import Tax."

💡Taxes are calculated based on the actual value of the items being shipped. The tax amount is determined using the formula: taxable price multiplied by the applicable personal import tax rate, which is categorized into three tiers. If the total tax amount is equal to or less than RMB 50, it is exempt from collection. However, if the tax amount exceeds RMB 50, it will be charged accordingly.

Undeliverable Arrangement

If a parcel cannot be successfully delivered, a return-to-sender service will be available, which incurs an additional shipping cost from China back to Hong Kong. The sender will be responsible for covering the return shipping fees as well as any applicable taxes or surcharges associated with the return.

 

Prohibited Items for Personal Import:

  • Counterfeit Goods: Counterfeit patents, trademarks, copyrights, industrial design rights, counterfeit products, and defective products.
  • Biochemical Products: Biochemical substances, including toxins, pathogens, and other hazardous biological or chemical materials.
  • Narcotics: Addictive narcotics and psychotropic substances.
  • Endangered Animal Products: Products like turtle eggs, corals, etc.
  • Animal Furs: Animal skins or hair.
  • Trees and Plants: Woody coal, firewood, unprocessed wood.
  • Pornography Products: All kinds of pornographic magazines, books, or sexual products.
  • Gambling Products: All kinds of gambling items.
  • Illegal books, printings and CDs: Printed materials related to political issues, scandals, gambling, or content deemed morally degrading. This includes products, books, magazines, compact discs, or packaging that contradicts the principle of one China.
